NextGen's Universal Aluminum engine block cylinder head bolt hole repair fixture
This is a new tool for Head Bolt repair on all aluminum blocks. There are a couple of tools out there that do a similar job, but they cost twice as much and are limited in how many block styles that they will do.

CYLINDER BLOCK REPAIR
NEX-GEN (registered patent) drilling and tapping fixture has been developed to improve the way damaged threads are repaired in engine cylinder blocks. Thread damage is most prevalent in aluminum engines and without proper repair may result in scrapping the engine block (as recommended by BMW and other OE factory service). Vehicles are being kept in service longer than ever before and require service well into the 200,000 mile range, this means there are fewer salvage components available for repair and replacement.
Millions of aluminum engines have been produced annually over the last 30 years and aluminum engines are prone to head gasket problems due to thread failure in the cylinder block. Most repairs are performed in the field without machine shop services. The market for the NEX-GEN fixture is worldwide.
The repair systems currently on the market are available with fixtures that fit a limited number of engines or offer no fixture at all. The NEX-GEN fixture is designed to work with any engine. Once the thread repair is accomplished, coils, sleeves or studs can be used to complete the process.
Basic Set-up:
- alignment to hole with guide pin
- install drill guide bushing
- drill out damaged hole
- install tap guide bushing
- tap re-sized hole
- move fixture to next hole and repeat proceedure
