About Huth Manufacturing

Huth's History
Before Gerry Huth developed the first automotive pipe bender in the 1950's, fitting exhaust pipes was a difficult job that was beyond the means of many shops. Mechanics had to cut and weld pipe sections, making small bends manually. By 1958, Hugh had developed the first prototype of the portable pipe bender. Soon, Huth was supplying benders to shops across the country. Huth Benders continue to lead the field more than 40 years later due to ongoing research and development, a strong commitment to quality and a responsiveness of the needs of a changing industry.

Pipe Bending
The value of portable, affordable pipe benders was quickly evident when Huth first introduced them. With the increased number and variety of cars on the road in the last 40 years, that need has increased. With a Huth bender, it's not necessary to keep a variety of pre-bent pipes in inventory. With a few sizes of straight tubing on hand, you can quickly bend pipes for thousands of applications. You increase your profit margin and your customers don't have to wait for pre-bent pipes to be delivered.
Huth Program Bending Cards contain more than 7,500 part numbers. Most of these can be bent in a few minutes. And Huth's Rod Bracket Bender and bend your own brackets, too.

Huth Benders
Although some fundamental, time-tested concepts were retained, ongoing research and development has allowed Huth Manufacturing to improve and refine their line of benders. Today Huth offers 8 automotive pipe benders, as well as numerous accessories, such as portable expanders, swager / expanders, oil filter crushers and a wide variety of tooling and tooling packages.
All Huth automotive pipe benders share some important features: Rugged I-beam construction, 58,000 lbs. of bending power and a built-in swager / expander for complete end-finishing. There are some important differences between the benders, though.
    Huth Benders feature:
  • 58,000 lbs. of Bending Power
  • A High Speed Option for 25% Faster Bending
  • Built-In Swager / Expander for Complete End-Finishing
  • Rugged I-Beam Construction
  • Comprehensive Huth Bending Video Included

Prebent pipes may be convenient, but are they always practical? Are you willing to tie up money and space stocking prebent pipes you may never sell? Or to keep customers waiting while you wait for delivery?

With a Huth Pipe Bender and a few sizes of straight tubing you can keep your inventory down and your profits up. Thousands of pipes can be bent on a Huth Bender - each in a matter of minutes. All Huth Benders come with a built-in swager/expander, so you can create your own slip joints, ball joints and flares. Add a Huth Rod Bracket Bender and make all of your own brackets too. Huth's 7,500 Program Cards gives you all the information you need to make your own pipes.

All of this for a fraction of the cost of prebent pipes which leaves plenty of room for profit without increasing the cost to your customers.
